Son's Addictions

by Mary
(SC)

Our son is addicted to alcohol and drugs. This addiction has gotten him incarcerated. He lost his job, and now will be losing his house and possibly visitations with his son. Please, please pray for him.
Without the addictions; he is a wonderful man and father.

Son's addictions
by: Michael

You have an extremely difficult situation. I think Suzanne gave good advice and I second her suggestion re. Al-Anon. The families of alcoholics go through a form of suffering which can be as bad and worse than the alcoholics. Please both pray and reach out for the support Al-Anon can give you. Prayers and best wishes.

PRAYS FROM TEXAS
by: SUZANNE

I too am the mother of three of God's alcoholics and addicts that are not incarcerated, but have had other things happening due to their addiction. All we can do is turn them over to God's loving and healing hands. God is the only one that can heal their pain and anguish. We can only take care of ourselves. We have to take our hands off and fold them in prayer. I do not know if you have ever heard of Al Anon, but if you go to these meetings, it will put you on the right track and you will learn to take care of Mary and let God and the other alcoholics and addicts take care of God's alcoholics and addicts in your life. It will be hard at first. It is like giving God a broken toy and taking it back before He can fix it.
Peace and love to you Mary, and God loves you so.
If we are on the beam and our life is balanced God comes first, then we have to take care of ourselves, then our family, then others. If we do not truly take proper care of ourselves we will not have any energy left for our family.

Fourth Rosary Promise
The rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies. It will draw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
