Saint John Vianney Quote Offers Solace

by Anonymous

Sorrow melts away before a well offered prayer like snow before the sun.
-St. John Vianney

I really like this quote of St. John Vianney. So many times I have been in distraught situations that have plunged my heart into such a deep abyss that I thought I’d never get over the anguish. It’s during these times that I came to the realization that not through my efforts did I pray, but it must have been my very soul that continued to pray for me since my prayer became more of a deeper prayer, I guess one could say a "well-offered" prayer. The sorrow actually does melt away like the snow before the sun when my prayers are from the soul! I feel refreshed and able to deal with any situation that God allows to happen to me. Thank you Lord for blessing the world with such a wonderful priest as St. John Vianney!

Fourth Rosary Promise
The rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies. It will draw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
