Praying The Rosary With A Cassette Player

by Anonymous

I pray and listen to the rosary on my cassette prayer when I go to bed. It's an auto reverse so it's playing the rosary all night. I usally fall asleep on the 3 or 4 mystery, but during the night I wake-up and I start praying again. My husband says it doesn't count because I am not doing all the praying. Is my husband right? Thank-you

Intentions are there
by: Jerald Archer

I would imagine that Our Lady sees at least the good intention that you are trying. I think we all experience a sort of rather intense "relaxation" when we pray the rosary, which is normal. I have fallen asleep many times and found that if I listen to a recording of another voice, it really helps to keep me focused. But if you are lying down, then you are increasing the chances of falling asleep. In this case, you should just try to pray the rosary when you are more alert.

You are doing nothing wrong, as one must remember we are like children to Our Lady. Would a mother ever be angry at her child for falling asleep in her arms? No, she understands perfectly and sees at least the intention in your heart that you wanted to pray the rosary. God Bless You.

Looking for special say along rosary of years gone by
by: missing rosary

Since you are listening to your rosary on a cassette with reverse play it just might be the one I am looking for. My player with that feature, Sony, quit working and was returned after many hours/years of needless to say, enjoyment. Being able to listen to the "copy" of a rosary that a friend of my sister made for me after I converted in the late 80's and I have no idea who published it, nothing! to go by in order to know what to ask for searching the Web. If you are still playing your rosary, please send me an e-mail with your address or phone number and I will gladly call you. I would recognize it immediately because I believe there was a lady with a very beautiful voice that sang a song between each decade or maybe, it was at the end. Long before Pope Paul II added a couple more prayers, etc. As I said, I have nothing to go by in order to purchase an original in order to hear once again that very "Special Rosary". Hope to hear from someone real soon.

To: "Missing Rosary"
by: Joe R.

To the dear one looking for the recorded Rosary with songs & meditations.
The Rosary you describe sounds like the one that was recorded by Marilla Ness.
It is still available, but now comes on CD, rather than cassette tape. I guess you could copy it to tape for personal use where there is no CD player. The link to the CD is below.
You may have to copy & paste the entire link to your browser.

God bless you, Merry Christmas to you & your family. Keep on praying, this world needs it like never before.

Fourth Rosary Promise
The rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies. It will draw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
