Luminous Mysteries Questions

by Steve
(Shelton, WA)

When I pray this prayer and meditation on Christ's life it has been with the realization of Mary guiding us and stepping through this seen and unseen world.

But with the addition of Luminous Mysteries I am confused. I don't see Mary saying to John Paul II her request made to St. Dominic has been fulfilled in all ways, I now ask you to....

With this addition the rosary of Our Lady no longer exists, it is something different. I have a small collection of mysteries I have written as meditations based on 3 decades but they are just that, meditations.

***So, with that said, my question is why add this meditation, this redirection and still call it Our Lady's Rosary?

***If such can be done someone could add "Resurrection Mysteries" and why not add a few more to have seven-day meditation?

***The big question is are there other people who have said, “That's nice JPII but no thanks”?

Sorry for being unbending but I don't believe this addition to be anything but one man's perspective, not Mary directing us in her Rosary.

If you can convince me otherwise I think I will return to the Rosary of Mary rather than the Rosary of meditations.

Fourth Rosary Promise
The rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies. It will draw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
