How I Started Rosary Prayer

by Zemelak
(Ethiopia)

I have been Catholic since my childhood. My mother is very devoted to the Rosary prayer. Until the last year, I have had only little knowledge about the Rosary and its meaning. It seemed to me that Rosary is used just to repeat the "Our Father", "Hail Mary" and “Glory Be” nothing more. So I was not praying the Rosary until 2011.

On 31 January 2011, after my night prayer, I was somehow directed to website where I read the whole history about Rosary, the different mysteries, and how to pray it.

Finally it was time to go to bed. Before I slept, I went to switch off the lights. At the end when I switch off the last lamp. I saw a big cross (about half a meter) on our door between the bed and the living room. It was shining like fluorescent lamp. It disappeared after few seconds.

I was very happy when I see the vision. Then I thanked God. The way I understood the vision, it was given to me as a sign that Rosary prayer brings us to light, Jesus Christ! This was my first vision regarding Rosary.

Fourth Rosary Promise
The rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies. It will draw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
