Hospital Patients Need Rosaries And Holy Pictures

by Fr. Basil
(California)

Dear friends:

I am currently ministering at Domincan Hostpial in Santa Cruz where I encounter many sick patients of Latin and Eastern European origins - who are devout Catholics - with a strong devotion to our Lady - but who are very poorly Catechised.

What touches me everyday as I visit the patients and their families is their great and simple faith during their illness. They speak of their love of the Blessed Virgin and the family practice of praying the rosary when they were children. The comfort of a rosary would be of great help during their hospitalization - and a wonderful catechising tool too. However my zero budget precludes my supporting their spiritual health in this way.

I would be most grateful for any help you might be able to offer in terms of rosaries and other items like holy pictures, Divine Mercies and the like.

Blessings

Fourth Rosary Promise
The rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies. It will draw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
