Fr. Goddard, FSSP - Like Father like Father

Fr. David Goddard (father) and Fr. Matthew Goddard (son)

Fr. David Goddard (father) and Fr. Matthew Goddard (son)

I think it is great you are promoting the Year for Priest by having people post priests they are praying for.

We hear so much bad news about priests (some is justified), it really is good to hear positive stories.

I am also glad to see you are encouraging people to pray for newly ordained priests. Fr. Matthew Goddard has a fascinating story.

He converted to Catholicism when he was a teenager. The rest of his family soon joined. His father was an Anglican clergymen and after his own conversion, he became a Roman Catholic priest. So both father and son are now both Fathers. Fr. Matthew Goddard, newly ordained and Fr. David Goddard his dad. Neat story.

Fr. Goddard is from England and is assigned to a parish in Ottawa, Canada.

By the way, Fr. Matthew Goddard is a Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter priest offers the Extraordinary Form of the Liturgy, the Traditional Latin Mass.

Fourth Rosary Promise
The rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies. It will draw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
