For Patients Hospice And Hospital

by Katie
(St. Augustine, Florida)

There are many occasions where I am able to pass on rosary to the elderly as a gesture of Catholic friendship. My friend gave me a box of rosaries from Bethlehem that are nearly gone now. I sat a week with someone I knew and handed her a rosary. She could not speak, but her fingers were tight on the beads, and she was holding them and working the decades. Less than a week later she passed on. I could only pray for her as her family refused to call a priest. What little I can do on my end as a caregiver is a big thing to the patients. I will continue to pray for them and to help ease their fears. I know the Blessed Mother welcomes their prayers, however small or un-finished, the gesture and heart are pure. I believe the comfort of prayer is as effective as a warm blanket.

Fourth Rosary Promise
The rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies. It will draw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
