Do I Need To Be Catholic To Create A Rosary?

by Isis
(Canada)

Is it okay for me to make my mother in law who is Catholic, a Rosary even though I myself am not Catholic? I wanted to have it blessed at a Catholic church if possible as well. She means the world to me and my children.

No, you don't have to be Catholic to make a rosary. It sounds like a very nice gesture. It would be good to have it blessed by a priest or deacon (this applies to any rosary, no matter where it comes from).

Fourth Rosary Promise
The rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies. It will draw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
