Catholic Rosary Or Not

by Grace
(Rochester, NY, USA)

Is This A Catholic Rosary?

Is This A Catholic Rosary?

I have a set of beads which I took to be Catholic rosary beads because they were in my deceased Aunt's collection of Catholic rosaries. But these are not like any I know of. There is only 3 small beads separated by a larger bead. There are 13 sets in the string with a medal in place of the crucifix. The medal has German printing. Is this a Catholic rosary and if it is what prayers are said. Do you have any information that can help me or do you know how I can find information. Thank you

What Or Who Is On The Medal?
by: Archer

It appears to be a chaplet of St. Anthony, which has the number of beads sets you mentioned.

If you knew more about the medal, the writing and especially if there is an image on it (of a saint or symbol) this could help identify it better.

This is assuming the medal is the original one the chaplet was made with.

Thank You For Identification Of My Rosary
by: Grace from Rochester,NY

Thank you so much for identifying my rosary. With your information, I was able to find one on ebay and that seller had the prayers to be said in the listing.

Anglican Rosary.
by: John Tobin

There is a specific Anglican Rosary in which the order of prayers are different to the Catholic order. I do not know much about it but you could probably Google it to get more information.

Fourth Rosary Promise
The rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies. It will draw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
